The Good Intentions Fallacy Is Driving Support for Democratic Socialism
That "concentrated power is not rendered harmless by the good intentions of those who create it” has become among Milton Friedman’s most famous ideas. His warning is ignored today by those believing the “good intentions” of politicians, such as Bernie Sanders or congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, will render their destructive policies harmless.

Humanity Is Winning the War on AIDS
In the mid-1990s, there were some 3.4 million new HIV infections each year. In 2017, there were only 1.8 million.The critics may argue that four decades is a long time to tackle HIV. That, however, is historically illiterate. Smallpox, polio, mumps, Guinea worm disease and malaria have been the scourge of humanity for millennia. Today they are are all either eradicated or treatable. Forty years from an outbreak of a pandemic to treatment and, hopefully, eradication is but the blink of an eye.

ELDERLY HOMEOWNER CALLS 911 — POLICE THEN KILL HIM
When a naked intruder broke into the Aurora, Colorado home of Richard Black in the middle of the night , the intruder began violently attacking Black's 11-year-old grandson. Black quickly armed himself with a gun, and shot the intruder dead, possibly saving the life of his grandson, who was hospitalized after the attack. And then the Aurora Police Department showed up and shot Black dead. Was this latest accidental shooting avoidable? We'll probably never know because monopoly government police agencies have no incentive to correct incompetence.

Members of Antifa smashed out the windows of a U.S. Marine Corps recruiting office during a violent protest in Berkeley, California, on Sunday. During the protest, Antifa also set a car on fire and damaged 21 other vehicles in city, slashing some of the tires and bashing out windows, Fox News reported. The group also allegedly lit trash cans on fire, adding to the destruction across the city in its fight against members of the “alt-right.” Throughout the day, police arrested 20 people who were allegedly involved in the violence and vandalism.
