THE WAY WE WERE
Keva Wolfe is enraptured with history. Specifically, North Idaho history. She has many stories from the past to tell—and she wants to hear from others as well. That’s why Wolfe, a fourth-generation North Idaho native, created Old School North Idaho, a wildly popular Facebook page where people can reminiscence about yesteryears, quiz each other on old photos, reunite with former friends and immerse themselves in all things historically local. “I didn’t have much content at first,” says Wolfe, who created the Old School Facebook page in 2013. “But there was a lot of interest from natives in the area and long-time residents who were looking for a place to share their histories.” With assistance from longtime Museum of North Idaho Director Dorothy Dahlgren, Wolfe has grown her Facebook group to nearly 20,000 followers with anywhere from 10 to 100 new members each week.

10 Things You Need To Know About Democrats SHELLACKING Republicans In Virginia ... And What It Means For 2018
It’s easy to overread a single election night; it’s also possible things will change radically before 2018. But if the 2018 elections were held next week, Republicans would be rightly preparing for disaster. The Republicans have one more year to get things done. They're going to be murdered in 2018.

OUR MISGUIDED WAR ON LEGALISM
God governs man, but man is made in God’s image and so in tribute to God’s rule, man must make rules for his own person. Christians in this country have heard “Doing X does not make you a Christian” for so long, they do not know what Christians do.

UK intelligence agencies face surveillance claims in European court
The first major challenge to the legality of UK intelligence agencies intercepting private communications in bulk, following Edward Snowden’s whistleblowing revelations, is due to be heard by the European court of human rights (ECHR).  Three separate British cases brought by civil rights groups will be considered together by seven judges in Strasbourg on Tuesday, raising questions about the way GCHQ, MI5 and MI6 share surveillance material with the United States and other foreign governments.

The Military Rebuild Needs to Start in 2018
Restoring U.S. military strength needs to start now. The level of funding in 2018 will indicate whether the Trump Administration will succeed in the rebuild. Rebuilding the U.S. military will require sustained investment and increases for the foreseeable future. Merely keeping up with inflation will not suffice. The Trump Administration promised to rebuild the U.S. Armed Forces. This is only achievable through sustained and consistent investments in the defense budget. It took years for U.S. military readiness to erode, thus it will also take years to restore it. The restoration should start with the 2018 funding level. The Budget Control Act will have to change to accommodate the levels of spending required to rebuild the U.S. military.

Nikki Haley Warns South Sudan Strongman Against More Empty Promises of Peace
Haley made it clear that her primary mission in South Sudan was to tell Kiir that U.S. patience with his empty promises of peace is finished. The lessons for the Trump administration are clear. Kiir and his inner circle are not honest interlocutors for peace, and no one should believe their promises. Haley was right to tell Kiir he has no more chances left with the U.S., but he has heard all the tough American talk before.
