Obama to Move Gitmo Detainees to U.S. – Cuba to Get Base
A senior official said on Friday that “A team from the U.S. Defense Department will visit both a state and a federal prison in Colorado to assess their possible use for housing detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba”. Under Obama’s directive, the DoD is currently looking for places to house the over 100 remaining Islamic terrorists it Obama has not been able to find new homes for in other countries. The move is generally seen as a precursor to closing the long time United States military base in Cuba that was acquired following the Spanish-American War at the end of the 19th century.
