Tajikistan clashes leave 10 dead around Dushanbe
Gun battles in and around Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe have killed at least 10 people. The interior ministry said eight policemen were killed in gun attacks in the town of Vahdat just outside Dushanbe, and at a central interior ministry building. Officials blamed sacked Deputy Defence Minister Gen Aduhalim Nazarzoda, saying he was leading a "terrorist group". They also said that two of the attackers were killed.

Spokane man shot and killed at Moses Lake apartment
The Grant County Sheriff said a Spokane man was shot and killed at a Moses Lake apartment Friday night. The shooting happened at the College Apartments near Grape Drive NE and Highway 17.
Deputies were called to Samaritan Hospital around 10:00 p.m. Friday after Juan Manuel Gonzalez Jr., 38, arrived there with a gunshot wound to the chest. They said he had been driven to the emergency room in a private vehicle. He was flown to a Spokane hospital where he later died.
