By Friday morning, authorities were still in the process of dismantling the church.

Activist: President Obama Ignores Religious Persecution in China
The following excerpt is from an interview with Pastor Bob Fu, the founder and president of ChinaAid, a non-profit advocacy organization based in Texas that focuses on human rights issues in China, especially those involving religious freedom. Pastor Fu expresses his belief that while both the Clinton and Bush administrations took serious, concrete action to address the violation of religious freedom in China, the current administration has ignored the issue. Pastor Fu even points out that while he had direct access to the White House under the Bush administration, he was at one point even "black-listed" from attending a meeting at the White House, probably for fear of upsetting China.

Economic bright spots not a sure boost for Obama
To a struggling White House, the economy that was supposed to be a political millstone is losing some drag. An uptick in growth and a downturn in unemployment give the president a stronger story line going into the 2014 congressional election year. They also provide Democrats with a counterpoint to Republican attacks on Obama's health law.

Plane Crashes at Beach Video - Facebook Rumour
A video of a plane flying over a beach before disappearing behind buildings and then reappearing and crash landing into the sea is circulating Facebook. However the video, which stops when the plane lands in the sea, is a TV commercial for a travel company. The video stops prematurely – if it continued you would see the door of the plane open and swimsuit-clad men and women exit shouting “PARTY” along with the logo of the travel company appearing on the screen. The video is the result of digital manipulation and has been online since 2008. Social media and the Internet is rife with rumour, misinformation, propoganda and untruth. It is like this because people can be irresponisible with what information they choose to share.

An effective eye drug is available for $50. But many doctors choose a $2,000 alternative.
The two drugs have been declared equivalently miraculous. Tested side by side in six major trials, both prevent blindness in a common old-age affliction. Biologically, they are cousins. They’re even made by the same company. But one holds a clear price advantage. Avastin costs about $50 per injection. Lucentis costs about $2,000 per injection. Doctors choose the more expensive drug more than half a million times every year, a choice that costs the Medicare program, the largest single customer, an extra $1 billion or more annually.

That rate ticked up last month to 63.0 percent.
