Microsoft donated a new computer, printer and other hardware upgrades to the Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum. The new computer will allow the historical society to purchase software to manage the museum’s collection of black and white photographs of Central Washington life in the early 1900s. It also allows the society to track the other artifacts in its collection. The printer and scanner allow visitors to select and print some of the photos. The museum is located at 415 F St. SW in Quincy.

On Friday Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputies responded to a robbery call at the Tilt arcade located in the Spokane Valley Mall. Deputies contacted the employee who told them at about 10:00 p.m. he was closing the business. He said a white male, wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans, in his late twenties to early thirties, pointed either a rifle or shotgun at his chest and demanded money.

Crews to remove 8,000 yards of arsenic-laced mud from Lake Union
Cleanup crews are getting ready to remove thousands of yards of contaminated mud at the bottom of Lake Union after high levels of arsenic were discovered at the Northlake Shipyard. According to the Washington State Department of Ecology, the pollution near the western pier and dry dock areas is the result of years of sandblasting by the facility's previous owner. In 1994, when Northlake Shipyard bought the property, it was required to set up a trust fund to help pay for future cleanup of the site.
